Roxanne's Inspiring Fight For Survival - For Two

In November 2010, at the age of 30, Roxanne Martinez was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, just days after learning she was pregnant. 

Thanks to a dedicated medical team and an awesome God, her treatment plan allowed her to fight for her own life while bringing a new life into the world. She underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy while pregnant.

Just days after her seventh round of chemo and while seven months pregnant, Roxanne completed the Greater Fort Worth Komen Race for the Cure 5K. A little over a week later, on the day that should have been her final chemo treatment, she instead gave birth to her daughter, Serenity Milagros.

Born premature, but perfectly healthy, Serenity arrived to let the world know that they had won their fight. The following month, Roxanne’s scans came back clear with no evidence of disease. She is now a one-year breast cancer survivor, new mother and women's health advocate and volunteer.
